CDTA launches new express bus route in Albany
CDTA has launched its third rapid transit line.
The new BusPlus Purple Line will run from downtown Albany along the Washington Avenue and Western Avenue corridors to Crossgates Mall. This allows riders to travel to downtown Albany, the University at Albany, the College of Saint Rose, and other destinations in the Capital Region.
The Purple Line will also connect to the existing Red Line and Blue Line, providing access to Schenectady and Watervliet.
Mr. Schumer secured a total of $63.5 million to help introduce the line. The New York State Department of Transportation contributed his additional $10.99 million, representing 13.5 percent of the total cost, and CDTA contributed $9.3 million, representing 11.5 percent of the cost.
