SALT LAKE CITY — Good news for Utah skiers and snowboarders. The Utah Department of Transportation announced its start date and route. Ski bus service.
Service in Salt Lake County will begin Nov. 26 and run through April 13, according to a UTA press release.
UTA is working with ski resorts to improve customer capacity in Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon. UTA will provide all-day bus service to both canyons and will work with resorts to provide dedicated transportation for new hires. This includes expanding UTA Vanpool services and resort management employee shuttle systems.
According to UTA, the plan includes deploying backup buses when available to accommodate peak travel times.
For non-locals, UTA is working with Visit Salt Lake and Salt Lake County to offer paid services. Cottonwood Connect Ski Shuttle. A private shuttle operates for travelers staying at local hotels.
Additional ski bus service
As part of the upcoming schedule changes, UTA also released updated ski bus schedules for neighboring counties.
Ski bus service for Weber and Davis counties will operate from December 9th to March 24th. Utah County service will run from Dec. 23 to March 2, 2024, and Utah County service will run from Dec. 23 to March 2, 2024.
