But while these new Nintendo deals aren’t as dramatic, they’re still worth paying attention to. 10% off Nintendo Switch Online membership
If you want to access the online portion of your favorite games, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership. This includes playing against other opponents online in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Splatoon 3, downloading other people’s creations in Minecraft and Mario Maker 2, and This includes visiting other people’s islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Other perks include access to the NES, SNES, and Game Boy emulator libraries, including classic games like Super Mario Bros. 3, F-ZERO, and Donkey Kong. You can also play these games offline for up to 7 days after you last logged into your Nintendo Switch Online account. Members also enjoy exclusive eShop deals and offers, cloud storage, and access to the NSO mobile app.
An individual membership allows access to only one account on Nintendo Switch Online. If she’s the only Switch gamer in your family, this is fine. However, if everyone in your household is a Switch gamer, it makes more sense to get a Family Membership, which gives you access to Switch Online for up to eight accounts. We recommend using the 12-month plan, as it is generally significantly cheaper. Individual membership costs $3.99 per month for a total of $48. It’s expensive.
Get 10% off your eShop card and buy your membership later
Still not sure whether to pay the membership fee? Then there’s a safer deal. Amazon is offering 10% off on $20 and $35 eShop gift cards. These happen to be exact price of individual and family members. If you purchase an eShop card instead, you can later purchase a Switch membership for an effective 10% off. If you ultimately don’t want to commit to a membership, you can use your eShop card to purchase video games instead. Otherwise, as the name suggests, it also makes a great Nintendo gift for the holiday season.
