BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — As of 6:42 p.m. Sunday, Terminal 1 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is under evacuation. The airport is calling this an “evolving security-related incident.”
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is on the scene. It is unclear what happened, whether there were any injuries, or if this is one of many abandoned bags that cause problems for both the traveler and the person who left the bag.
Terminal 1 is home to Southwest Airlines and United Airlines, as well as several low-cost carriers.
Officials say this is the upper floor of Terminal 1, where check-in, gates and security take place. Please check the latest information. If you’re out there, share your tips and photos with BocaNewsNow.com through our 24-hour tip line. Call or text 561-866-NEWS. 561-866-6397.
