- Duchess of Sussex appears as additional background for Instagram post
- Invested in the company in December 2020
- CEO and co-founder Hanna Mendoza also appears in a video
Meghan has appeared as a background extra in a bizarre Instagram ad by a coffee company in which she owns a stake.
Clever Blend’s latest commercial features the Duchess of Sussex as an intern in the digital department, stacking boxes, making hot drinks and working on computers.
In the final shot, she comically fails to fist-bump another member of the team as she walks away from the camera, causing everyone to burst out laughing before the video ends.
Markle, who has invested in the trending oat latte brand since 2020, appears as an extra throughout the ad, with CEO and co-founder Hanna Mendoza walking around the company’s headquarters and announcing the team’s big plans for 2023. I appreciate your efforts.
Clever Blend posted a video on Instagram today with the caption, “Damn, you’re keeping us busy right now!” He had to call for reinforcements.
“I’m so grateful for the immeasurable love and support this year. Thank you for helping me keep my latte-loving dreams alive and thriving! xo.”
Markle, 42, admitted in December 2020 that she invested an undisclosed amount in powdered latte company Clever Brands.
And around that time, the former senior royal used her connections to promote the company, which was founded in January 2019 and is run by CEO Hanna Mendoza, by sharing its products online. He sent a basket of products to his neighbor, Oprah Winfrey.
Duchess Kate visited the company and shared a short video of her trip on Instagram earlier this year, including footage of herself sipping a hot drink, but for the past three years I’ve been pretty quiet about my investments.
She shared a glowing five-star review of the line in November. The former cable actress posted a photo of herself cradling her Mendoza and wrote of the range, “One of my favorite ways to start and end each day.”
Clvr is based in Santa Barbara, California. Meghan said she discovered the coffee when she sampled the superfood coffee in 2017, when its founder was selling it at a pop-up store before creating the home blends it sells now. Seem.
It also happens to be based near Montecito, where Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan live.
In a statement to Fortune magazine confirming the 2019 investment, Meghan said, “This investment supports passionate female entrepreneurs who prioritize building community alongside their business.” .
“I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating products that I personally love and take a holistic approach to health. I believe in her people.”
Mendoza acknowledged Meghan’s investment, saying: “Entrepreneurs need capital, but they also need advisors who care deeply about what they’re building.” She’s grateful she was able to find both in the Duchess of Sussex.
“Her passion for what we are building is evident and we could not imagine a more aligned partnership. We are excited about the road ahead.”
Meghan’s support for the brand marks the first public investment since she and Prince Harry left royal life in 2020 to pursue private lives and seek “financial independence” from the royal family.
According to Clevr Brands’ website, the company is a “mission-driven, women-led wellness brand based in coastal California.” CEO Hannah previously worked at another superfood her snack company. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2014, but it is unknown how old she is.
A post written by co-founder Hannah reads, “Our beginnings were humble. My co-founder and I started a pop-up adaptogenic coffee bar in 2016.”
“We traveled across America waxing lyrical about the magic of plants. People listened and felt better in body and mind. We wanted to make that feeling easier to deliver. I created Clvr.”
