Overwatch 2 producer Jared Noyce has justified the rewards and price of the Winter Wonderland event pass amid player backlash.
Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch 2 has had its fair share of controversy. The title got off to a very rocky start, with players taking issue with the lack of changes from the first part and the new pricing method introduced by the developer. These complaints were compounded by the delay and subsequent reduction of his PvE mode, which was promised to be the centerpiece of the sequel.

But despite all of this, Overwatch 2 is still well on its way through Season 8. Season 8 introduced a new tank hero, Mauga, a new battle pass, and more. The new season also brings back the Winter Wonderland event, packed with new skins and returning game modes.
Unfortunately, the new event pass that was implemented left a bitter taste in the community’s mouth, and the return of the event only brought player dissatisfaction to light even more. Despite all the backlash, Executive producer Jared Noyce He came forward to justify the perks and pricing of the event pass.

Noyce explained that the price and value players get from the Winter Event Pass is “straight into the holiday spirit.” The developer explained that he wanted players to be able to choose what they picked up during the event, but also said he was listening to player feedback.

The Winter Event’s Premium Battle Pass grants players bonus tickets to get more skins of their choice during the event, but many players assumed they could get all the skins by purchasing the pass.
