The agency said more than 700 people who attended the dinner showed “clinical symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.”
ARS did not disclose the menu for the Dec. 14 dinner at its offices in Montoire-de-Bretagne, near the northwestern city of Nantes.
The agency said the employees became ill over the next two days, but none were hospitalized.
Local media said the workers were given a questionnaire to fill out online to report symptoms.
Some workers speculated on social media that Rocamadour cheese, made from goat’s milk, was the culprit. However, official information about the cause was not immediately provided.
According to local media, the company’s restaurant was busier than usual that day as staff wanted to enjoy a Christmas-themed meal.
Airbus Atlantic is a subsidiary of European aerospace group Airbus, with 15,000 employees in five countries. This airplane manufacturer employs 134,000 people worldwide.
