A Pennsylvania casino has opened a hotel with only luxury suites.
rivers casino philadelphia It was opened River Suites at the Battery Philadelphia Wednesday at 1325 N Beach St. in Philadelphia.
According to the hotel, suites are apartment-style accommodations with a choice of one, two or three bedrooms. Suites average 864 square feet. The largest suite has more than 2,200 square feet of space. In addition to a private bedroom with a walk-in closet, each suite features a seating area with a sofa bed. All suites have kitchenettes, and some units have patios and two-story lofts. Many of the 62 suites offer views of the Delaware River.
“The luxury accommodations at River Suites are a game changer for Rivers Casino Philadelphia,” said Eric Althaus, the casino’s general manager, in a news release. “For VIPs and out-of-town visitors, you won’t find a penthouse-quality suite with such waterfront views anywhere else in Philadelphia.”
Riversuites is located within The Battery, a mixed-use lifestyle campus. The hotel also has a coworking area, lobby gathering space, a pool table, and an indoor basketball court.
The casino’s 22-acre waterfront property is connected to the Battery via Penn Treaty Park and via the Delaware Riverwalk. The casino says the two properties are a six-minute walk or three-minute drive away. Rivers operates a free shuttle with 24/7 security on his 24/7 basis and offers free valet parking 24/7. Rivers Casino Philadelphia features eight restaurants and bars, 1,522 slots, 78 table games, 55 hybrid gaming seats, a 28-table poker room, and a sportsbook area for live sports wagering.
River Sweets is operated by Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which is owned and operated by Rush Street Gaming and its affiliates. Chicago’s Koo Architecture designed the River Suites Hotel. Philadelphia’s Strada is the architect of The Battery.
More than 1,100 people work at the casino, including more than 40 at the hotel.
The Battery is a $154 million redevelopment project currently underway by Philadelphia-based Lebert Adler Real Estate Fund. Plans for the property include 173 apartments, 135,000 square feet of office space, 100,000 square feet of event space and a RiverSuites hotel. The 11-acre Beech Street complex, formerly the Delaware Power Plant, was commissioned as the PECO power plant in the early 1900s. By the 1950s, the company was the largest electric power company, supplying power to nearly half of Philadelphia.
