An American Airlines jet bounced off a London runway Wednesday, braving strong gusts of wind that threatened to blow it into the sky.
Heart-pounding video shows the Boeing 777 staggering from left to right just a few hundred feet above the pavement at London Heathrow Airport before making a seemingly confident and effortless descent before landing at 11:45 a.m. It shows what he is trying to do.
The video showed the plane’s nose swaying, straightening until it was level with the fuselage, and then bouncing straight back into the air. Shared on Big Jet’s TV show.
Somehow, the pilots were able to rip the huge aircraft back to the ground and land it safely.
of The 308-seat plane battled strong crosswinds and dense fog brought on by supercell thunderstorm Storm Gerrit, which caused widespread flooding across the UK, ripped roofs off houses and killed several people.
Despite flying in strong winds that reached 130 mph in some areas, the American Airlines plane arrived at Europe’s largest airport just 20 minutes late. FlightAware data shows.
They were traveling 6,000 miles and nearly 11 hours from California when they encountered some terrible turbulence.
No injuries were reported from this horrific touchdown.
But then Storm Gerrit forced Heathrow to cancel 18 flights due to domestic air traffic control restrictions. Flights to European cities such as Barcelona and Berlin were also affected.
The storm also caused widespread disruption to rail services hundreds of miles north in Scotland, with some lines suspended until authorities could carry out a full inspection of the network. A tree fell on one train and hit the driver’s cab, but no one was injured.
American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
