whipped marshmallow cream
Forget about boring whipped cream, this dreamy marshmallow version will bring you the best. It’s like your favorite marshmallow fluff whipped into the smoothest, most pillowy comfort. Each grain has a subtle vanilla flavor, and you can adjust the sweetness by adding a little powdered sugar.
In addition to eating it straight out of the bowl, layer this marshmallow whipped cream on cakes and pies for an instant upgrade, drizzle it over hot chocolate for creaminess, or use it as a fruit dip. Trust me, once you taste this fluffy magic, you’ll be adding it to all your favorite desserts.
4 ingredients to make
Mix these four ingredients together and you’ll have the perfect fluffy frosting that will make any dessert a million times better.
- Marshmallow Fluff: This key ingredient gives whipped cream its sweetness, airy texture, and unique marshmallow flavor. Feel free to adjust the amount depending on your preferred level of marshmallow strength. The more fluff, the more dreamy peaks you will get.You can buy it ready-made marshmallow cream Or create your own.
- Rich whipped cream: Be sure to chill for best results. Chilling will help the cream foam faster, creating firmer, more stable peaks.
- Vanilla extract (optional): A small amount of vanilla extract adds a warm, sweet aroma that beautifully complements the marshmallow flavor. However, this is completely optional and is delicious even without the whipped cream. You can also add almond extract for a nutty flavor.
- Powdered sugar (optional): The powdered sugar instantly melts into the marshmallow whipped cream, leaving a smooth and creamy texture. You can start with a small amount and add as much as you like to adjust the sweetness to your liking.
Let’s make it chocolatey!
For a chocolatey twist, replace half of the marshmallow fluff with Nutella. This creates a decadent chocolate and marshmallow swirl that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
How to make marshmallow whipped cream
It’s so easy! Make sure you are using chilled heavy cream. Otherwise, it won’t whisk properly. Sometimes I even put the mixing bowl and mixing attachment/whisk in the freezer ahead of time to ensure I get the right texture.
- Add the fluff and cream to the bowl. Add marshmallow fluff and cream to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Add vanilla and powdered sugar, if desired.
- whip: Beat on medium-high speed until medium-stiff peaks form.
- Save for later: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Use as a topping for cakes, pies, cheesecakes, hot chocolate, or as a dip for desserts.

tips and tricks
Here are some easy tips and how to use them to make the perfect marshmallow whipped cream.
- Add powdered sugar. The marshmallow fluff adds sweetness to this whipped cream, but it’s very subtle. If you want your whipped cream to be sweeter, add a tablespoon or two of powdered sugar while whipping the cream.
- Vanilla extract: If you want a stronger vanilla flavor, add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- More marshmallow flavor: If you want to add a marshmallow flavor by omitting the vanilla and sugar, add another 1/4 to 1/3 cup of fluff until you get the flavor you like.
- Servings: Pipe the whipped cream onto a cookie sheet and place it in the freezer for a few hours. Once set, carefully remove small portions from the parchment paper and freeze in an airtight container until ready to use. Perfect individual servings that can be popped right into your hot chocolate mug.
- For cake: If you want to use this to frost or fill a cake, whip the cream until it forms soft peaks (the peaks will stand up but fall over when you lift the beaters). This will soften the whipped cream and make it smoother.
