The Shibungid meteor shower occurs in early January every year. According to NASA, is known for its bright fireball meteors, large bursts of light and color that last longer than the average meteor streak.
The Oblastid meteor shower has a narrower observation window than other meteor showers, and its peak tends to last about two days. The peak of the Oberid meteor shower lasts only a few hours, but under ideal conditions as many as 120 Oberid meteors can be seen per hour.
