CHICAGO (WLS) — CTA Orange Line service was suspended Monday morning due to track conditions.
CTA said Orange Line trains were stopped at 35th Street and Archer Avenue due to track conditions, and crews were working to restore service.
CTA announced that service on the Orange Line between Western and Adams/Wabash has been temporarily suspended. Late Monday morning, the CTA announced that train service would resume, although delays would remain.
Chopper 7 flew over the scene with crews working on the railroad tracks near 35th Street and Archer Avenue.
CTA said in a statement Monday morning that passengers may wish to consider alternatives such as nearby bus lines, including the 62 Archer bus, or other rail lines. Shuttle bus available.
CTA said, “We are working hard to restore service as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Please allow extra travel time.”
