British retailer GAME will reportedly refuse physical trade-ins for video games from February 2024. This news is eurogamerspoke with numerous staff members at multiple branches of the county’s largest video game retailer.
Although GAME has not yet made an official announcement to the public, multiple staff members working for the company confirmed that they have been told that the service will end on February 16th. This means that you have one month to use the game and redeem credits.
Note that the console is not mentioned. Even after the video game trade-in service ends, GAME will continue to sell used products until used inventory is exhausted. This means that UK residents will be more restricted in where they can trade their old games. CEX remains the most popular option, allowing you to exchange games for in-store credit or cash.
Online, the reaction was almost entirely negative, with many saying they felt it would happen. “There’s no reason to go there.” After the retailer cancels the trade-in,
