The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that a hot tub at a New Hampshire resort “may have been the source of Legionella infections” for two out-of-state residents who stayed at the resort last month.
One Massachusetts resident has died from the disease, health officials said. Another person, a Rhode Island resident, was hospitalized.
Health officials say there are no new cases of Legionnaires’ disease related to this case.The hot tub at Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa in Whitefield remains closed and poses no threat to the public
DHHS said initial testing of the resort’s water system did not detect Legionella, adding that it continues to work with the Department of Environmental Services and Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa to “address” the findings.
