The latest PS5 game from Sony’s own China Hero Project has been revealed as AI Limit, a sort of mashup of NieR, Dark Souls, and anime-style visuals, due out later this year. Developer His SenseGames focuses on story and combat, and you can watch the gameplay trailer above to see it in action.
The Steam listing describes it as “a civilization destroyed after the sudden and inexplicable collapse of a man-made ecosystem, natural disasters, and a series of wars.” “And over the centuries that followed, a strange substance known as mud spread everywhere and monsters appeared. Explore the truth behind the collapse of civilization in ruins infested with monsters, such as the Sky City on a Lake.
The description further reveals a number of combat-related systems, from synchro rates that make you “more powerful in combat” to mechanics tied to your left hand that deploy spells and assists. There may not be a sequel to Code Vein, but fans are looking forward to it.
Sony’s China Hero project has led to quite a few successful PS5 and PS4 releases over the years, including FIST: Forged in Shadow Torac and ANNO: Mutationem.
