Farming and lifestyle simulation Stardew Valley is getting a major update soon. If you’re curious about its progress, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has shared a new update.
in Short messages on social mediaThe developer mentioned that the addition of “major new content” was finally completed and they focused on bug fixing and polishing until it was ready. He also can’t wait for everyone to try it once it arrives.
“1.6 is a bit larger in scope than originally planned. However, we have added major new content and are still in the bug fixing and polishing stages until we are ready for release. Thank you for your patience, everyone. It’s fun to watch them play!”
If you’re still worried about whether it’ll be released this year, don’t worry. According to Barone, it’s “definitely” going to be released this year. He acknowledged this in a follow-up reply to a fan. As for how much bigger it will be compared to previous updates, he says:
“It’s hard to compare because 1.5 was about big new areas, whereas 1.6 is about adding even more small elements to the old stuff of the game.”
When this build of the game finally arrives, there will be a new “major festival”, two new mini-festivals, new late-game content, new items, crafting recipes, winter costumes for villagers, new farm types, new secrets, and more.
