King Charles is hiring a £75,000-a-year technical expert to protect Buckingham Palace’s computer systems from cyber-attacks.
The successful applicant will lead the team responsible for ensuring the Royal Family’s cyber security, working closely with staff at the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre. Job seekers should also urge all of Wang Mansion’s more than 800 staff to be aware of the threat. They need to be “calm under pressure” and good at identifying risks and offering good, low-cost options to resolve them.

“Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Services, you will lead our Cyber Security department to maintain and strengthen the information security posture of this complex and unique organization, including our Cyber Risk Management Strategy and Cyber Security Frame. It also includes leading the maturation of work delivery in line with best practices.
“Lead internal teams to take actions to reduce cyber risk and build resilience against cyber attacks. Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to mature a secure buy-design culture. Assess, review, and advise on best practices while leveraging expertise, including from the National Cybersecurity Center.
“As a subject matter expert, you will develop understanding and skills for the broader Digital Services team and other key stakeholders. We work closely with our information security colleagues to support compliance.”
Applicants are required to: “Extensive experience in cyber security roles, an understanding of information security frameworks and a proven ability to lead cyber functions and execute enterprise level security strategies, preferably within Her Majesty’s Government.
