Governor Gavin Newsom Announced Appointment Edward Bombita As a state commander Cybersecurity Integration Center Within Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
According to a press release issued Thursday, Bombita brings a long history in cybersecurity to his new role, having served as deputy director for the Identity Data Management Team at Fleet Cyber Command/10th Fleet since 2023, and previously served as deputy director for the Special Activities Team at U.S. Army Cyber Command from 2019 to 2023.
He also served as the Cyber Task Force Executive Director and Commander of Cyber Protection Team 171. California National Guard As a shift leader and analyst California Department of Technologyof Security Operations Center.
Bombita earned a bachelor of science degree in business information systems from California State University, Fresno. Her new position will pay $167,460 and does not require Senate confirmation.
