The Royal Family came together today to celebrate the King’s Birthday Parade, known as Trooping the Colour, an event that is particularly significant this year as it marks the first public appearance of the Princess of Wales this year as she faces a brave battle with cancer.
Every year, Trooping the Colour attracts thousands of royal fans who line the streets of London, with a lucky few chosen via online voting to win VIP access to Horse Guards Parade for the main event.
Fashion lovers are eagerly awaiting the British royal’s stylish outfits. Last year, the Princess of Wales looked stunning in a striking green coat dress by Singapore-born designer Andrew GN, paired with a Philip Treacy hat and sapphire earrings from the late Princess Diana.
The event will be attended by senior members of the royal family.
Members of the royal family always dress up in their best attire for the occasion, but 2024 will be especially emotional as they rally together in support of Kate and the king.
Scroll through to see which guests attended the military parade, which was full of grandeur and tradition.
Princess Kate
The Princess of Wales wore a white ensemble with navy stripes and white bow detailing. She completed her sophisticated look with a wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat with a distinctive design. She finished off her outfit with pearl earrings. The choice of pearls carries deep symbolism. According to jeweller Mar-a-Lago, “pearls’ unique formation process – from an irritant inside a shell to a beautiful gemstone – is seen as a symbol of transforming negativity into positivity, which is why pearls are often associated with good fortune.” This symbolism resonates perfectly with Kate’s journey, reflecting her ability to transform personal challenges into displays of grace and resilience.
Duchess Sophie
Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, appeared in a charming yellow dress. She paired the look with a stylish asymmetrical hat with delicate fishnet detailing. Her accessories included dangling earrings that added a touch of sophistication. The Duchess’ choice of bright, fun colors and minimalist designs accentuated her elegant presence during the event, radiating grace and joy.
Lady Louise
Lady Louise Windsor exuded timeless style in a delicate chiffon dress adorned with soft pastel floral patterns. The dress featured a high neck and long sleeves, exuding elegance. She paired the look with a striking periwinkle hat adorned with floral accents and feathers. She accessorized with pearl drop earrings and a simple necklace.
Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte wore an adorable nautical dress in classic navy blue with white trim. The dress came with a traditional sailor collar, adding a timeless touch to her look. Her hair was neatly styled and adorned with a charming white ribbon that matched perfectly with her outfit.
Queen Camilla
Camilla wore a sophisticated mint green coat dress with a delicate frayed pattern around the edges. She accessorized with a beautiful pearl necklace, matching pearl drop earrings, and a brooch. Her elegant ensemble was completed with a wide-brimmed hat with intricate floral appliqués.
Akshata Murthy
Chancellor Rishi Sunak attended the event with his wife Akshata Murthy, who wore a stunning floral dress that showcased her elegant and sophisticated style. The dress featured an intricate pattern and a modest neckline, and Murthy paired the outfit with a sophisticated pastel pink hat adorned with an asymmetrical bow. The look was sophisticated, elegant and perfect for the event.
