Greek actors Raphael Kaliotakis and Daniel C. Ryan will star in the Hallmark film “A Greek Recipe for Romance.”
Colin Zaiss directed the film from a screenplay by Keith Hemstreet, Katie Carr and Zaiss.
After losing her job, a young woman, Abby (Danielle C. Ryan), takes a trip to Greece that leads her life in a new direction: she spends time with her mother (Peru Cavalieri), who has emigrated to Greece.
There, Abby meets Theo (Raphael Kaliotakis), a talented young chef with an air of mystery and a passion for cooking.
Theo worries about his future and dreams of one day opening his own restaurant. Furthermore, his father, Nicholas (Argyris Gaganis),
They pressured him to give up his dream of becoming a chef and join the family business.
With a new job opportunity arising during her stay, Abby teams up with Theo to help reopen his late mother’s old restaurant, giving Abby some much-needed restaurant experience and Theo a chance to flex his culinary muscles in the kitchen.
Abby and Theo are the quintessential duo navigating the ups and downs of business building as pressure mounts from Theo’s wealthy father to close the business and return home to Athens.
It soon becomes clear that they are attracted to each other and may develop a romance they never thought would end up on a restaurant menu.
The country of Greece and its visually striking cinematography functions as a supporting character in its own right in this romantic comedy.
I can’t give away too much, but this is a heartwarming story that everyone needs to experience.
