MANILA, Philippines — What does a celebrity like Marjorie Barretto cook for her family at home in her free time? Old-fashioned comfort food, of course. For Marjorie, old-fashioned comfort food means dishes that are commonly enjoyed at home, like chicken cordon bleu and shrimp fried rice.
She shared these two recipes after Fly Ace Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Doña Elena Olive Oil, asked her and fellow celebrity and current Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez to share their family favorite recipes using different variations of Doña Elena Olive Oil.
She shared her recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu. Beyond the ingredient amounts, which should be left to the home cook’s preference, Marjorie shared techniques for making the recipe work.
Marjorie’s Chicken Cordon Bleu features tender chicken breasts smothered in a flavorful combination of ham and cheese, coated in golden breadcrumbs. This traditional dish is elevated by using Doña Elena Pomace Olive Oil, which is not only perfect for frying, but also adds a subtle richness to the chicken. This olive oil also has many health benefits, including high antioxidant and heart-healthy monounsaturated fat content.
