Battlefield 3 and its DLC packs will be removed from the list on July 31st
EA has announced that it will be shutting down multiple servers for its Battlefield games on Xbox 360 later this year. Online services for Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360) and Battlefield Hardline (Xbox 360) will end on November 7, 2024. Ahead of the server closures, the publisher is currently Confirmed These three games and their DLC packs will be removed from the Xbox Store on July 31st.
- Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)
- Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)
- Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)
Online services for these titles on these platforms will end on November 7, 2024. While the online components for these titles on these platforms will end, if you own the game you will be able to continue playing the single player components.
Technically, we already knew that Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360) and Battlefield Hardline (Xbox 360) would be removed from the list, as these are 360 games that aren’t backwards compatible and will no longer be available for sale when the Xbox 360 Store closes on July 29. The Xbox One versions of these games will not be affected by the November delisting or server shutdown.
While physical versions of these games exist, the DLC is digital only, so be sure to grab any DLC packs you want before they’re removed from the list and gone for good.
Just to be on the safe side, if you’re looking to earn online achievements in these games, it’s worth setting up or joining a game session to work through them with other TrueAchievements members. It’s worth noting here that the best way to earn achievements in these games is to rent a server, but because server rentals are done through the Xbox 360 Marketplace, it looks like that functionality will no longer be available when the 360 Store closes on July 29th.
In other server closure news, 24 Entertainment has announced that it will shut down the Xbox One version of Naraka: Bladepoint in August.
