Apple announced that it will hold a press event on September 12th at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, where it will unveil its new iPhones.
The launch event will be streamed on Apple’s website at 1 p.m. ET. Apple has been using pre-recorded videos for iPhone launches since 2020.
The new iPhone 15 will likely be branded after the European Union passed a landmark law in October requiring all phones, tablets and cameras sold in the EU to use USB-C. iPhone models are expected to use the USB-C charging port, and the deadline is December 28, 2024 for wired charging.
Reports suggest that some of Apple’s debut new devices could be made out of titanium. The company may also unveil new Apple Watch models at the event, including an updated version of the high-end Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple also usually releases new versions of iOS for the iPhone at its September event. This year’s iOS 17 software includes a more visual caller ID, improved autocorrection, and a new journaling app called Contact Poster.
