Megan Fox is voicing the vampire Nitara in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, and NetherRealm Studios has shared a new trailer revealing the newest playable fighter in the roster.
Nitara hails from the dark and desolate kingdom of Vaeternus and participates in Mortal Kombat 1’s battles to protect her vampire race. In combat, she uses claws, fangs, and aerial abilities. You can see the new fighter in action in the trailer below.
“She’s from this strange realm and she’s some kind of vampire creature,” Fox explains in the video. “She’s evil, but she’s also good. She’s trying to save people. I like her a lot. She’s obviously a vampire that resonates for some reason. It’s cool to be in the game, You know what? I’m not really just saying it out loud, so she’s going to be nice to me.”
Fox also said that since he grew up playing Mortal Kombat, it was “incredible to be voicing a character in a new game.”
Mortal Kombat 1 releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 19th (September 14th for early access). You’ll need to be careful on the internet for the next week and a half or so, as the complete roster of Mortal Kombat 1 has already been leaked by players who picked up a physical copy of the game.
