Matthew Witten has joined Camden National Bank as Senior Vice President and Director of Information Security.
In a news release, Camden National said, “Twenty years of experience demonstrate that the organization’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of its customers’ financial data ensures that users can use their services with confidence and without fear of cyber risk. It gave us a deeper understanding of how to do it,” the news release said.
In his new role, Witten will be responsible for maintaining the bank’s industry-leading security while staying ahead of potential threats. He manages areas of significant risk, including information and cybersecurity, third-party vendor management, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning. He also provided ongoing support for monitoring and reporting results for components of the program, Computer Security He chaired the Incident Response Team (CSIRT), Audit Committee, Bank Disclosure Committee, and Director He will serve on the Board Technology and Audit Committee.

Most recently, Witten served as Chief Information Security Officer for Martin’s Point Health Care for over eight years. Prior to moving to Maine in 2015, Mr. Witten worked in the Louisville, Kentucky area for a number of organizations, including the Louisville Metro Authority and the University of Louisville.
Among other awards and recognitions, Witten received the 2018 People Who Make a Difference in Security Award from the SANS Institute, a cooperative for information security thought leadership.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bellarmine College and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Witten is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Goodwill Northern New England and is a member of ISACA, ISC2 and FBI-InfraGard.
He lives in Raymond, Maine with his wife and two sons.
