New York Fashion Week always brings together stylish outfit inspiration from editors, influencers, stylists, runway collections, and celebrities. Attendees and designers alike spend weeks, even months, perfecting what will be on display during the week-long event. So, not surprisingly, the resulting ensembles are often a huge success. But style during fashion week can sometimes err a little on the over-the-top side. And since my style rocks more minimal than maximal style, I always appreciate it when someone debuts an outfit that whispers instead of screaming.
Laura Harrier attended Fossil’s NYFW kickoff party wearing a deep-V polo-neck LBD with chest pockets and a maxi-length hemline, paired with a gold chain necklace and black boots. This look is exactly the one I keep talking about endlessly with friends and colleagues, blown away by its timeless charm and sexy yet sophisticated elegance. Luckily, it didn’t take me long to find a similar polo-neck black dress from Nordstrom’s in-house label Open Edit (a brand that every editor has in their back pocket). It has almost the same atmosphere as the Harrier. And since NYFW is still going strong, I simply have to wear it. tomorrow. Shop his LBD overnight for my own Fashion Week event, as well as his gorgeous black dress for fall, below.
