We don’t know who Olivia Rodrigo is trying to get revenge on, but she definitely will.Take it back!By being one of the first people to get her hands on the recently announced iPhone 15 Pro. Shortly after the end of Apple’s fall event, the Gen Z star songwriter dropped a music video titled “Put It Back!” Which was filmed on the latest iPhone.
Of course, the video looks great. The video was shot by director Jacques Bigert, who has worked with artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney, in collaboration with Apple. They weren’t going to make it feel like a cheap copy of Rodrigo’s other videos, and they managed to fit the old school teen movie vibe of their last few releases, which were mostly filmed by Petra Collins.
The real magic of the video comes in the editing process, where several clips of Rodrigo are stitched together to make it look like there are several of them – they double themselves to deliver an even bigger punch when they “kiss”[es] “His face at the top of his lungs.” Most iPhone customers won’t have the same resources and editing skills to create a great music video as one of the world’s biggest pop stars, but the camera on the 15 Pro is certainly impressive. Cleverly, the man the song is supposed to be about is now out of stock. Clear and out of focus, perhaps a reference to a new feature that lets you toggle focus in portrait mode. And of course, the video shows off the iPhone 15 Pro’s three-lens setup. The Pro can shoot at 77mm, while the Pro Max has a 5x telephoto camera that can shoot at long focal length of up to 120mm. Like the previous few iPhones, it also has regular and wide-angle lenses. We see close-up shots of “All American bitchRipping purple rose petals from her stem, we then watch Rodrigo and her army of clones smash the car windows from a wide angle.
An advantage of the iPhone 15 Pro Max for filmmakers is that you can use the iPhone with Capture One to instantly transfer high-resolution data to a Mac or external storage drive. If your artistic ambitions are as elaborate as this Olivia Rodrigo video, you’ll need that break, so you don’t overload your phone. But as our resident photography hard-working Expert Haj Kambas points out that the matter will not be limited to using a “real” camera at this stage? Well, not if Apple asks you to use its latest technology to film your latest music video. Isn’t this great timing to release an Olivia Rodrigo album just days before Apple’s big iPhone announcement?
Rodrigo has been busy collaborating with tech companies while promoting her long-awaited second album ‘GUTS’ – for which she worked with Linktree, Adobe And InstagramSo her partnership with Apple makes sense, but for the millions of us who love Olivia, the new music video is a nice surprise. Thanks Apple.
