iOS 17 release: Key new features
1. Contact the poster – With iOS 17, users can customize how they appear on other iPhone users’ screens. Tweak your incoming calls with Memoji, typography, font color, and photo editing. Apple says Contact Posters are “a new way for users to express themselves.” Contact Posters will also be available on third-party calling apps such as WhatsApp, Google Meet, and Skype.
2. Message – Messaging is even more fun in iOS 17 because Apple has added Live Stickers created from Live Photos to the new sticker library in Messages. Additionally, these stickers can be used in other areas of the system where markup is available. Other features include quick gestures to reply to specific messages, the ability to share your location directly within a chat, and the option to jump to the last message you read.
3. Diary app – The new journal app allows users to easily write down their thoughts, ideas, and experiences in a digital journal. Provides a convenient way to track important moments and memories. You can also add photos, map locations, and music links to your diary entries.
4. Live voicemail – The new Live Voicemail feature in iOS17 displays live transcriptions of incoming calls for better screening when people are talking. This feature allows you to send any call to voicemail on your iPhone, but instead of rejecting the call, you first get a live transcription of what the other person said.
