It’s the first issue of 2024, but it still feels very strange to enter this number. I hope you have a great holiday and vacation. I spent most of my time sick and caring for sick children afterwards. office And as always, I’m trying to beat my high score hole down.
I’ve been reading this week too cryptocurrency farm and AI influencer and Tara Reidaccustomed to my new one instant pot air fryer (Send me your recipes!), I’m poring over Matt Mullenweg’s recipes. - microsoft copilot. This is a comprehensive AI app from Microsoft that is essentially a competitor to ChatGPT, but it looks much better. I like it so far! How big of a deal is Copilot for Microsoft? The Copilot key has been added to Windows keyboards. This is the first new key in 30 years.
- Click on creator keyboard. 2012 is here again, folks! It’s been a while since I’ve gotten excited about an iPhone accessory, but this physical keyboard attachment looks fun. Will my fingers remember how to type on a phone keyboard?
- bit condo. Another in a growing number of entertaining documentaries about crypto antiheroes. However, this Netflix production is a little different. It’s basically just a crime story told by the criminal at the center. I don’t think this is gospel truth, but it’s a fun story.
- iA Presenter. This app is a godsend for anyone who needs to create a really great slide deck from time to time, but just hates making slide decks. It’s simple, straightforward, and impossible to mess up. The app has been released on Mac for a while, but it’s now in beta for iPad and his iPhone, and it looks great.
- infinite trivial pursuit. Not necessarily the most innovative or surprising Wordle-type game — it’s just, you know, a bunch of trivia questions every day. But it’s fun! The AI mode is also great. Once you select a topic, it will generate as many (sometimes very strange, in my experience) questions as you want to answer.
- It’s the first time someone has “beat” Tetris.. I don’t even know how to explain this. Just his 40 minutes super fast time. Tetris The performance becomes increasingly dramatic and ends in a very boring, yet completely thrilling way. Playing like this is a feat of athleticism. Also, this too good explanation video As to why this is such a big deal.
- story graph. This app had its moments.server is broken Over the past week or so, I’ve had a “too popular” moment. This is mainly because this is such a great place for readers. We’ve also added some new features, including barcode scanning for book tracking and a really cool recommendations section. I plan on using both this and Letterboxd more this year.
- The Hollywood Reporter’s Complete Songwriters Roundtable. A group of very talented songwriters – Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Cynthia Erivo, Julia Michaels, and Jon Batiste – have learned how to make music, have a microphone, an MP3 player, and keep their creativity intact, almost I got to see him talk about how to stay open forever. Bonus: new actress roundtable is also great.
- Public Domain Day 2024. Mickey Mouse is the biggest new name to enter the public domain this year, but there are plenty of cool movies, music recordings, and stories that anyone can publish and play with. Thanks to AI, we’re going to spend the whole of his 2024 debating copyright law, so celebrate when you win!
- Tesla Cybertruck Full Tour! we. have. Wiper answered. This nearly two-hour video, courtesy of Out of Spec Reviews, provides the most comprehensive introduction to the Cybertruck ever. Some cool stuff, some horrible ideas, and a very, very floppy wiper.
screen sharing
sometimes, The Verge‘s richard lawler I’m trying to use a Mac. He’s primarily his Windows guy, but he’s also a news editor and generally tries to keep everything up to date, so he’s constantly switching things up. And you can always tell when he’s trying his Mac again. Because he starts complaining about how awful the Mac’s window management tools are and how he has to download different apps just to do basic his OS level tasks. (All valid points!)
Also, Richard is generally not the “try everything new just because” type, so when I asked him to share his home screen, he said something simple and optimized is exactly what he needs. I thought they would show me the system. I was almost right.
Below is Richard’s home screen and information about which apps he uses and why.
wallpaper: This photo Lock screen and “Aurora of Iceland” From Google wallpaper.
App: Google Home, Google Wallet, Camera, IoCare, Google Keep, Nest, Watch, Google Chat, Google Photos, TikTok, Google Recorder, HondaLink, Google Play, Phone, Messages, Chrome, Gmail, Overdrop.
over drop This is my weather app. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with this product as I get battery drain issues every 18 months and have to reinstall for a while, but which product is best for answering the following questions? That’s why I always come back. “Did it snow so much last night that you had to get up early and shovel the snow off your car?” At least without getting out of bed and looking out the window.
Most important apps on the home screen (other than) google keep (as long as it is alive) is the home screen.I’ve used it before action launcher together for as long as I can remember Voxel theme icons. A consistent look and customizable swipe or long press shortcuts give you easy access directly to where you need to be.
We also asked Richard to tell us about some of his current passions. He said:
- still playing apex legends and overwatch As bad as I ever was, I mainly used it in conjunction with listening to podcasts.
- open mic eagle season 4 What happened is, I just finished it, but it’s a must-listen. Ostensibly a series of interviews with Questlove about the history/discography of The Roots. things fall apartbut it’s also a time capsule of the entire late ’90s rap era, as told by someone who was there, covering the likes of Notorious B.I.G., J. Dilla, and the Fugees.
- Otherwise, it’s all NBA podcasts.my latest additions are Current status of the league JokicJoestar’s work and TikToks I can’t stop watching this channel Post only ads for old cars like This is for Chrysler Laser.

I’m forever looking for games that I can play bit by bit.for Year, to play mario tennis You can use it on your Nintendo Switch as a way to take a break between meetings or kill a few minutes while your water boils. But there aren’t many games that are so easy to pick up and put down.
My new go-to is something I wasn’t expecting. golf plus in meta quest. This is an incredibly realistic golf game that can be played on a variety of courses around the world, with varying difficulty levels. It’s such a cool game and so much fun that he’s been searching lately for things like “Can you attach a Quest controller to a real golf club,” and he’s almost certainly looking to drop $30 on it. Sanraki accessories like this club. Play one hole, have a meeting, play three holes, then do some more work. I’m that guy now! How did that happen? I think it’s time to buy Dockers and vests. I wish you good luck.
