Pontero showed off the best carry-on packing methods. Video posted Last week, she took to her TikTok account to start with the basics and make sure her collection includes high-quality carry-on bags.
“The first tip is to get a really good carry-on,” Pontello says. “I love the song ‘Away’.”
In the video, Pontello demonstrated these tips using the brand’s larger carry-on bag. She loves the “compression compartment” and spaciousness of this bag.
The next tip Pontello suggested was to roll up your clothes when packing them in your bag to save space, and he demonstrated how to do that.
“You just take a pair of shorts or something, fold them in half and roll them all the way through,” she said.
“What this does is it becomes much smaller,” the expert continued.
“This way, you can put it next to other rolled things, or you can tuck it into a really small area of your suitcase and utilize all the surface area here.”
However, in some cases, rolling your clothes can cause them to wrinkle a little. This brings us to Pontello’s next point.
“I always travel with a travel steamer,” she said as she pulled out a small steamer to show viewers.
“I can’t go anywhere without it. I highly recommend buying a really good one.”
Next, a professional wardrobe stylist shared some rules that could lead to some very difficult decisions when it comes to shoe selection.
“If you’re traveling with just a carry-on, bring no more than three pairs of shoes,” she said.
Pontello claims this is actually a “really great way to travel” and explains how he decides which three pairs of shoes to bring.
“Bring three pairs of shoes in different neutral colors,” she said.
“I’m going to Hawaii, so I’ll bring a pair of white sandals for the beach, a pair of comfortable kitten heels to wear to dinner, and a pair of hiking shoes.”
“If you pack more than 3 pairs, it will take up extra space and make your suitcase very heavy, so I think 3 pairs is best.”
Last but not least, Pontello revealed some tips that apply to people traveling to warmer climates.
“If I’m traveling to a hot place and I end up going into the ocean and wearing wet clothes, I don’t like having to repack and put wet things back in my suitcase, so I bring an emergency bag. “I try to bring one with me. This way I can put my wet clothes in,” she said, holding up a reusable clear plastic bag.
“Then I know it can be separated and won’t touch anything else,” she concluded.
In an interview with DailyMail.com, Pontello also provided three additional tips to keep in mind during the packing process.
“Before you pack your bags, try on all the outfits you plan to bring on your trip,” she advised.
“This will help you feel comfortable with every outfit and prevent you from overstuffing.”
To keep the rest of your carry-on clean, she recommended using shoe bags to protect your shoes and choosing reusable containers for travel-sized products and toiletries. .
