A woman was accused of trying to “fix the men” in her life because of changes she and her boyfriend made to their apartment after they moved in together. She said she understands why people would be offended, but she didn’t expect the negative reaction.
Emma Ganzalein, who lives in Oslo, Norway, told Business Insider that she has been with her boyfriend for two years and moved into his apartment 18 months ago.
Ganzalein, 26, said her boyfriend wants to make some changes to the apartment, but he isn’t really interested in the interior design. When Ganzalein moved in, she said, she began making changes that they both liked.
So far we have made changes to the kitchen, living room and floors.
Ganzalein, who has been sharing updates about the renovation process on TikTok. slide show The before-and-after photos documenting the couple’s progress went viral on Nov. 2, racking up 8 million views and becoming her most viral video to date.
Many commenters expressed negative opinions about the transformation, with some calling the new look “sad beige,” BI previously reported.
Some commenters suggested that Ganzalein may have made the changes against her boyfriend’s preferences, but this was apparently based on how the apartment looked before she moved in. is.

Ganzaline speculated that her post went viral because of the caption, “Every man needs a woman in his life,” which may have offended some users. Stated. She told BI that she chose this caption because she joked with her boyfriend that his apartment needed a “feminine touch.”
She also said that she thinks the commenter assumed her boyfriend was not involved in renovating the apartment, but that was a misunderstanding.
Ganzalein told BI that she takes the initiative when suggesting changes to the living space, and that her boyfriend considers them before approving or rejecting them. She says she prefers neutral colors, adding, “I really like calming colors like beige and white. I think they look very clean and beautiful.”
The 26-year-old said she was proud of the changes she made to her apartment and was surprised by the negative feedback online.
“They don’t know anything about us, they don’t know anything about me,” she added, “If they want to say that, what can you do? This is the Internet. I think you need to be prepared to get a lot of information.” If you post them online, those comments will be deleted. ”
Ganzalein told BI that her boyfriend often says he likes the way the apartment looks now, and that the negative comments don’t really bother her.
