Between newlywed romances, best friends planning engagements, and spectacular bachelorette parties in quick succession, it can be hard to see the reality of relationships on TikTok.
A woman who experienced the heartbreaking loss of her marriage reached the exact audience she needed by voicing her struggles on TikTok.
One woman spoke of her heartbreaking feelings as her husband decided to divorce her just four months after they got married.
Ironically, Lauren Fox Aparicio, a jeweler who specializes in engagement rings, was forced to open up about the reality of her life when her husband revealed that he wanted to end their marriage. After just four months of marriage, she described the embarrassment and confusion she experienced losing the only person she was supposed to grow old with.
Unfortunately, for many couples, this is the reality of marriage. According to statistics, 41% of first marriages end in divorce. What’s even more surprising, at least in Aparicio’s case, is that the average length of marriage before divorce is nearly eight years.
She described the difficulties she expected in the months following her divorce and urged viewers to understand her heartbreak and hesitation about returning to work with engaged clients.

Clearly blindsided, she recalled the conversation in which her husband announced his intention to end their marriage: As she described it, she had “no fights, no counseling.”
Aparicio couldn’t help but wonder at what point in their relationship her husband’s feelings changed.
Unfortunately, in the United States, lack of commitment is the most common reason for divorce.
Approximately 75% of divorced couples nationwide Think the reason for divorce is “lack of dedication”. Whether it’s one or both, losing the will to fight through the challenges of a relationship or losing communication often means the end of the relationship.
Dating coach David Elliott talks about four behaviors that tend to lead to divorce for many couples. One of them is a feeling of alienation. “The common theme is that it’s a control mechanism designed to manipulate the partner and take back power,” Elliott explained.
So while Aparicio spent time building a communication strategy, a foundation of trust, and support for her partner, she said, “For the past four months, I’ve been lying to myself and to her and documenting my grievances.” Ta”. He kept her girlfriend away from her own true feelings, motives, and truth. And she had to pick up the pieces herself.
Days after her marriage ended, Aparicio found support in an online community that made it easy to empathize with her heartbreak.
In her “getting ready” video on her first day back at work, she made sure to express her love for the support she received from her viewers. During her time of isolation, she felt accepted by the community, which made her first day covering the news a little more bearable.
“I want to thank everyone who reached out to me after my last video,” she said. “The kindness of the community here is incredible.”
While it may seem like just an emotional thing to someone who hasn’t experienced a similar situation, heartbreak can take a toll on many other areas of the victim’s life.
Heartbreak has very real physical symptoms. It comes with it. Therefore, people’s immune systems are often compromised after divorce, affecting sleep, appetite, body temperature, and heart rate.

Commenters were quick to acknowledge the pain. In solidarity, one user wrote: There is nothing worse than feeling sick in your stomach or heart. You have this! ”
Aparicio’s video highlights how the community – friends, family, and even social media commenters – can support her through heartache and moving on.
No matter how much time you spend together, it’s never worth being in a relationship with someone who takes away your happiness (mentally and physically).
