(Reuters) – The union representing Alaska Airlines flight attendants said on Friday it had reached a tentative agreement with the airline to secure a record contract.
The Union of Flight Attendants said details of the agreement will be reviewed by union leadership, after which members will vote on ratification.
“Through our joint efforts, we were able to reach an agreement that provides for quality of life and continued carrier growth in Alaska,” Alaska Airlines said in an emailed statement to Reuters on Friday.
The American Airlines (NASDAQ:) flight attendants union announced the previous day that it was close to striking after the union was unable to reach agreement on a new contract.
But American Airlines said it would continue negotiating with the union to ensure flight attendants receive the benefits of the contract.
