A US housing expert said the housing crisis was “firmly in the hands of the government”.
In an interview with GBNews, Mitch Rochell explained that there was a “supply and demand” issue and revealed that it would be helpful if the government simply “let the builders build”. He also explained that California “has led the way” toward “the most aggressive supply.” “How” in every state in the United States.
“California actually paved the way for adding housing supply in a way that was probably more aggressive than any other state in the United States,” he said, “by loosening massive zoning laws that would have prevented the construction of new housing. ” he said.
“They recognize that there is a housing crisis and homelessness problem in California, so they are trying to pave the way for more supply.”
“The decision to actually get out of the way and allow builders to build is firmly in the hands of the government, whether it’s local government, central government or state government. Let them do what they want.” The free market will actually solve this housing problem. ”
