Apple is launching the ambitious Vision Pro headset to consumers today, February 2. There are over 600 apps and games currently available on the VisionOS Store, with more to come. Although Netflix and YouTube don’t release dedicated apps, there are still plenty of apps that can be great to start your Vision Pro journey with — and this is an evolving list.
Some of the apps on this list are for the new Apple device, while others will be available for the Vision Pro through its compatibility with other iOS and iPad apps.

The biggest draw of the Vision Pro is its immersive viewing experience, so it’s only natural that streaming giants and major media companies would want to back the device. Apple’s headset comes with advanced spatial audio, a pair of ultra-high-resolution micro-OLED displays, Dolby Vision, and more. Additionally, it supports up to 2.5 hours of video playback, making it useful for movie night.

Will Vision Pro be useful in the workplace? That remains to be seen, but some developers are building productivity apps that will help headphone users handle familiar tools in a new way, from spreadsheets and presentations to written documents and note-taking tools. Both Apple and Microsoft have released their own suites of productivity apps for the new device, as have other companies, such as Box, Notion, and others.
communication
Digital avatars or “personalities” are another interesting feature, giving headphone wearers the ability to create a virtual version of their face. (TechCrunch’s Brian Heater explains the Vision Pro’s face-scanning process here.) Many of these apps support Apple’s character, which could be an interesting change from the cartoony avatars you get with Meta’s Horizon Worlds, though they’re not yet capable of Capture a person’s image with accurate facial features.

Browser
There are still apps missing from Vision Pro, including Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, and more. However, companies that don’t have dedicated apps tell users that they can still try out their platforms using the browser version. There’s also a “Mac Virtual Display,” so you can use your Apple headset as a giant 4K display to see all your tabs.
social
Want to try Discord, among other social media and messaging apps, on Vision Pro? Of course, why not? This list is quite small at launch – we doubt Meta will offer support for its apps anytime soon – but hopefully more will be added over time.
games

When most of us think of an AR/VR headset, we immediately associate it with playing entertainment games. Fortunately, Apple hasn’t skimped on this front, and there are more than 250 games out there Apple ArcadeCatalog available at launch. There is also support for gaming controllers such as the PlayStation DualSense and the Xbox Wireless Controller.
- Superfruit Ninja
- Cut the rope 3
- P lies
- Synth riders
- Arcade version of NBA 2K24
- Sonic Dream Team
- TMNT Divided Destiny
- Lego building journey
- What golf?
- Jetpack Joyride 2
- Wild flowers
- And many more!
music
Plenty of music apps offer unique experiences on the Vision Pro, including the ability to watch a VR concert featuring opera singers, pianists, or even legendary rapper T-Pain. (We think this looks great.)

News
Some people like to read paper newspapers and others prefer to stay informed with a ski goggle-like device attached to their head. Either way, we don’t judge.
Feasibility
Maybe you want to find out today’s weather from a sassy chatbot. Maybe you’re a pilot looking to view live traffic data in a real-time aviation environment. Here are some utility apps you might want to check out.

design
Creators have a few interesting apps to choose from when it comes to design. For example, Adobe’s text-to-image tool allows you to place created images over real-world spaces as if it were a virtual collage. You can also explore Lowe’s interactive 3D scenes and customize the kitchen of your dreams.
the shopping
Whether you’re looking for an alternative shopping experience like using the J. Crew app to closely examine the fabric of clothes, or you’re playing Super Ninja Fruit and want to order a smoothie, these are the shopping apps worth trying.
Meditation/mindfulness
When you think about it, both meditation and VR involve escaping reality, so why not use the Vision Pro to get away from it all?
