With cold and flu season in full swing, many people are seeking natural remedies to treat symptoms and boost their immune systems before they sniffle.
One trending way to treat colds is “wellness shots.” This is a small “shot” of juice or other ingredients, about 2 ounces in size.
Typical ingredients in these “shots” include ginger, citrus juice, and turmeric.
Wellness shots are “a great way to get nutrients into your diet quickly,” Anna Riesdorf, MS, RD, told FOX News Digital.

“Turmeric, ginger, probiotics, and apple cider vinegar all have nutritional properties that may be beneficial and support immune health,” she said.
Reisdorf, who is based in Nashville, Tenn. and writes for the website Food Trends, acknowledged that these ingredients are not “magic” in terms of curing a cold, but says, “They can help you recover. “It helps provide additional nutrition that is helpful.”
Wellness shots can be ordered at grocery stores or online. You can also make it homemade.
Limor Sass, a New York-based lifestyle expert, shared her wellness shot recipe with Fox News Digital.
