Astarion has been a fan-favorite party member since Baldur’s Gate 3 was first released. He has become one of gaming’s most recognizable characters in a short period of time, and his voice actor Neil Newbon was nominated for Best Acting at this year’s Game Awards.

Astarion has gone on to occupy a large portion of all Baldur’s Gate fanfiction on his own. Players are drawn to his personality and backstory as a vampire spawn, and his story becomes stronger and stronger as the game progresses.
As some players have discovered, people may not necessarily love Astarion’s mental strength, as the lore of Baldur’s Gate 3 confirms that he has a very smooth brain. Of course there aren’t any.
