Tips and variations
This caramel apple bark is as easy to customize as it is to make. Here are some easy ways to make it your own!
- Variety of chocolates: You don’t have to use semi-sweet chocolate or white chocolate, just use whatever chocolate you like! You can eat melted food butterscotch chips. Hmmm!
- Thick chocolate layer: The chocolate layer should be thick rather than too thin. A solid base is needed to support apples, pretzels, and caramels.
- If using other caramels: If you can’t find Kraft Caramel Bits, the equivalent is about 70 regular Kraft Caramel Squares. You can also replace the caramel bits with your favorite 16 oz soft caramel, but the final melting consistency may vary by brand.
- Other toppings: You can add your favorite toppings to the caramel apple. Try adding chopped peanuts or sprinkling white chocolate and cinnamon sugar to create a caramelized apple crust on your apple pie.
