Software maker CDK Global said on Wednesday it has gone live with a “small initial test group” of its dealer management system (DMS) following a cyberattack-related outage that affected auto dealerships across the US.
CDK said in a statement that it will begin gradually rolling the system out to other dealerships once testing is complete.
CDK, a software provider to car dealerships, temporarily suspended all of its systems on Wednesday, June 19, saying it was investigating a cyber incident.
According to the company’s website, CDK works with more than 15,000 retailers across North America.
The company added that it is also working to bring its customer relationship management, service solutions and customer care channels back online.
The ongoing CDK outage has forced some U.S. auto dealers to revert to manual paperwork processing.
Reuters reported on Tuesday that the outage affected about half of Volkswagen dealerships and about 60% of Audi dealerships in the United States.
