HONG KONG — China’s manufacturing activity contracted for a second straight month in June as investors pin their hopes on a key Communist Party meeting in mid-July to help revive the struggling economy.
China’s National Bureau of Statistics said on Sunday that the country’s purchasing managers’ index (PMI) stood at 49.5 this month, unchanged from 49.5 in May, which was also the median forecast in a Reuters poll.
