good morning. January 15th Today’s image comes from Playa Grande, Mexico.
I’m sure some readers are tired of seeing the Milky Way, but I’m not. I love galaxy photography, so it’s regularly featured on the Daily Telescope. But this photo is really special. Because it highlights his one of the wonders not only of the sky above, but also of the earth.
Alfonso Tamez sent me this image and I’m really looking forward to it. This photo shows both our galaxy and part of the Orion Nebula in the sky, as well as ocean bioluminescence, the light emitted by marine life in the ocean. One of the most amazing nights I’ve ever spent was kayaking in a bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico. It’s a very eerie and otherworldly experience.
It’s fun to ponder all the life visible in this image, both what’s known in the ocean and what might exist around all the stars in the sky. I hope everyone is having a great week.
