when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Due for release later this yearIn 2019, fans will be playing as a new, different-looking Frank West. This “improved” version of the character hasn’t been well-received online, so it’s good to hear that Capcom will be giving us a different model based on the original Frank West in the remaster. There’s a catch, though.
original Dead Rising Released in 2006 on the Xbox 360 and later ported to other platforms, the game stars Frank West, a photojournalist with experience covering wars, as he investigates a massive zombie outbreak that has occurred in and around a small town shopping mall. In June, Capcom surprised fans by announcing a remaster of the original game. But the first teaser It featured a new look and voice for Frank West. Fans weren’t happy about this, and Capcom, perhaps anticipating such a reaction, made an offer to such fans: pre-order the game and get classic Frank.
As IGN discoveredCapcom is currently Dead Rising upon Official siteAs would be expected for a AAA video game publisher in 2024, pre-orders are Dead Rising It comes with a few bonuses, one of which is a skin for Frank West, returning him to the stockier, more youthful look seen in the 2006 original. Dead Rising.
Now, normally some small cosmetic bonuses that come with pre-orders aren’t much to be alarmed or upset about, and I’m not surprised that the other pre-order bonus skins (based on the main characters from “Star Wars”) were… Dead Rising 2— Pretty cool! But some fans are unhappy that their only major complaint about the upcoming remaster – the new, weird-looking Frank West – can only be resolved by paying Capcom some money before reviews are published and people have a chance to play the game.
And will these classic skins still be available after the game launches? Will Capcom sell them to the general public at a later date? Or will they be added to the game as a free bonus at a later date? We don’t know for now, but the game’s official website does note in small print that these pre-order bonuses “may be offered separately at a later date.”
Oh, and don’t expect this classic model to sound like an Xbox 360 game. As the original voice actor says, Capcom didn’t ask him to return..
To be honest, the OG Frank West model feels like something you should unlock after beating the game once, or after killing a certain number of zombies. It’s supposed to be a fun reward for playing. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster It’s not a way to get more people to pre-order something before they’ve played the game or read some reviews.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster It will be released on September 19th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
