The next update for Halo Infinite will include two new features for ranked play that players have requested. Adjustments to rank demotion protection and rank exit penalties. Let’s take a look at the details and talk about how it works.
Rank demotion protection: I leveled up from Gold to Platinum – thank goodness, it wasn’t easy. Unfortunately, maybe you didn’t play as well in the next game, or maybe you got distracted by a phone call, or maybe one of your teammates quit. Now, let’s go back to gold. Well, with the introduction of rank demotion protection, that’s no longer necessary. As a safety net, whenever he ranks up in a new division (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, or Onyx), he will be given a grace period of 3 matches, win or lose, to be demoted to his previous division. there is no. Split.
Example scenario: When you level up to Onyx, your CSR will be 1503. If you lose the game, disconnect, or quit, your new CSR will be 1500 and stay with Onyx. If the same thing happens two more times, it will still be 1500.
Winning a match counts as one of three protection games. This is not his 3rd loss, he has 3rd game no matter what happens.
Ranked exit penalty adjustments: So let’s say you’re in the middle of a game and someone on your team quits. Great, there’s no chance of winning anymore and you’ll just lose points if you quit. Well, that’s probably going to change. If someone who is in the game but is not a member of the fireteam quits, they will receive the maximum penalty but will not lose their CSR.
got it. But I have some questions, Tashi:
- If someone on the other team quits, can they do so without penalty? yes!
- What are the penalties if someone on my fireteam quits and I quit? As now, you will lose up to 5 CSRs.
- If someone other than my fireteam member quits, how much CSR will I lose if we stay and lose the match? 0CSR. Ranked games are not intended to be played with unbalanced teams. Players should be able to leave without penalty and start looking for another match again.
- What happens if a teammate quits or crashes while loading? The first ejection after the start of a match will still incur the full penalty, but all players can leave without penalty after that.
- If someone in my game quits, will I still get banged up with a banhammer if I decide to quit without penalty? No, in these cases you can stop and be safe from Banhammer.
Refreshing a ranked extract
Based on feedback from players, we’ve also made some important updates to ranked extracts (social playlist extracts won’t see these updates).
Audio changes: At the moment, you can hear extraction points being converted by the enemy team from anywhere on the map. This means the player can leave the area around the extraction device and use global audio cues to tell when to return outside. With this upcoming audio change, the device itself will emit audio. This means you have to be nearby to hear the sound being converted. As a result, teams will have to pay even more close attention to extraction devices than they currently do.
UI changes: You can now see in the UI when extraction points are being converted. Similar to above, this allowed players to leave the area near the extraction device and only peek outside when the UI indicated it was being transformed. Future changes will almost completely eliminate this issue. The UI will no longer indicate when the extraction point is being converted and will no longer indicate how much time is left. Players/coaches will have to time their extractions similar to how they timed weapons/power-ups in older Halo titles, making the play a bit more old school and hardcore.
We hope these quality of life updates will make your ranked experience more enjoyable and help you work your way to the top.
