Dr. Jamaine Mango has joined the Philadelphia Department of Aviation as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Mr. Mungo has over 20 years of cybersecurity experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing cybersecurity programs and solutions for various organizations, most recently where he served as a cybersecurity executive at Comcast Advertising. Ta. He will fill the vacancy that reports to Chief Information Officer Allen Mehta and report to Chief Information Officer Atif Saeed on the dotted line.
“Information security is becoming increasingly important to all organizations, and airports are no exception. We are confident that we have selected experienced personnel,” said Said.
Throughout his career, Mungo has implemented next-generation cyber initiatives and delivered advanced technology concepts along with research into cybersecurity risks and automated remediation solutions. He has implemented robust cybersecurity programs for the Department of Defense, national agencies, and businesses, and has led several high-level cybersecurity initiatives. A book has recently been published, Structure of a cyber attack.
“As threats continue to emerge, we are innovative and proactive to stay ahead of advances exploited by adversaries and ensure appropriate protective controls are in place to ensure continued operational success at optimal levels. We need to reduce risk to make it work. I’m very excited to join a dedicated team and great organization,” said Mungo.
Mungo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Decision Science from Virginia State University. She holds a master’s degree in information security from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Capella University. She also holds several information security industry certifications and is a member of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) Philadelphia Chapter.
Mango is passionate about sharing his technical knowledge with leadership groups and technical programs and has taught cybersecurity courses at Cornell University, Purdue University, and North Carolina A&T State University.
