We are always discovering new things about Earth. Just as scientists discovered that water was slowly leaking from the Earth’s surface underground, people finally realized that there was a huge ocean hidden beneath the Earth’s crust.
Now, experts have discovered that the Earth’s axis appears to be shifting for reasons no one expected.
Basically, the tilt of the Earth changes over time. A few years ago, scientists attributed this to global warming and the melting of polar ice sheets.
But experts have published new research suggesting groundwater extraction is also a bigger factor than previously thought.
Earth’s poles can shift as ice sheets melt. But the same thing can happen if groundwater is depleted due to irrigation.

Things are moving slowly as the North Pole gradually moves in the direction of the UK, but in theory this phenomenon could change Earth’s seasons over time.
But most concerning is what a new study published in 2016: Geophysical Research Letters This has implications for how we consume the earth’s natural resources, especially regarding salt water used in dry lands.
Ki-Weon Seo of National University is co-lead of this study. “The Earth’s rotating pole actually changes significantly, and our research shows that, among climate-related causes, groundwater redistribution actually has the greatest impact on shifting the rotating pole,” she said in a statement. It shows that they are giving.”
It happened after scientists recently discovered that water is slowly leaking into it from the earth’s surface. The liquid drips down the descending plates and eventually reaches the core after a 2,900 kilometer journey.
And, although the process is slow, over billions of years, a new surface has formed between the molten metal of Earth’s outer core and the Earth’s outer mantle.
