Inauguration ceremony A ceremony honoring the reading of the Gettysburg Address will be held at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 19 at the Majestic Theater, 25 Carlyle Street, Gettysburg.
Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will give the keynote address. Actor Graham Sibley, star of the History Channel series “Lincoln,” reads the Gettysburg Address. Opera singer Jenai Bridges will perform in honor of Marian Anderson. Renowned historians and authors Driesha Kearns Goodwin and Harold Holzer will also be in attendance.
Mr. Eisenhower will also appear at the fellowship luncheon after the ceremony, and will also be available for a book signing afterwards.
The offer is Lincoln Fellowship, Pennsylvania; The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the 1963 ceremony. Starring Anderson and Vice President Lyndon Johnson directly addressed civil rights issues.
President Abraham Lincoln first read the speech known as the Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863, four and a half months after the battle.
No firearms or weapons of any kind, replica or otherwise, are permitted inside the theater.
