U.S. employers expect to hire fewer workers in 2024, according to a survey from multiple regional Fed banks, a trend that will dampen wage growth and dampen inflationary pressures.
The results will be released ahead of the government’s monthly employment report next week, with employment expected to increase by 170,000 in December.
