There were some newsworthy moments in the fashion world this week to share. First, June Ambrose announced that she is stepping down as creative director of PUMA’s women’s basketball division. Ambrose was appointed to the role in 2020 after her longtime client Jay-Z introduced her to former CEO Bjorn Gulden. While in this position, Ambrose established a new identity for her section of women’s sportswear and created a fashionable and functional collection.
Next up, Who Decides War and legendary hip-hop group The Diplomats collaborated on a collection celebrating Harlem style. Campaign images for the vibrant collection are shot in front of a brownstone stoop with the rapper wearing a custom leather jacket with embroidered city graphics.
Footwear designer Salehe Bembury posted a teaser of his upcoming collaboration with New Balance on his Instagram. Since 2020, he has been working with the brand on designs as a collaborator on silhouettes such as “2002R,” “990v2,” and “574.” This latest shoe is an iteration of the “1906R” that comes in his two fiery colorways: red, orange, and silver, red and blue.
Finally, two streetwear brands, Supreme and London-based Corteiz, have collaborated on a new collection. Black hoodies and T-shirts with co-branding printed on the front will be available for purchase. Only the T-shirt is available online for now, while the hoodie is only available at his Corteiz pop-up in London.

June Ambrose leaves Puma
June Ambrose is reportedly leaving PUMA women’s basketball team after three years fashion business. During her tenure there, she transformed the label’s women’s sportswear into her brand of fashion-forward athleisure and performance. Her work, which she directed, created a huge buzz for the PUMA brand, and they even held a fashion show during 2022 New York Fashion Week, showcasing everything PUMA has to offer. Ambrose will be leaving the brand to pursue her personal projects. Throughout her career, she has styled stars such as Jay-Z and Missy Elliott. I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes from here.
