It seems that rare footage of the multiplayer mode of “Super Mario 64” has been released online.
After interviewing Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto in 1996, we at least knew there were plans to make Luigi a playable character. A surprising leak in 2020 then confirmed it, showing that Super Mario 64 included character models for both siblings.
However, this appears to be the only footage of an early Super Mario 64 build we have, and if it’s genuine, or not just a trick of the eye, this is the only known Luigi in the game. It may become a video of. You can see it for yourself in the grainy video below. Jump to the 13:21 timestamp.
YouTuber Now In Game Channel uploaded the video about three weeks ago and said the video was recorded at Spaceworld 95.
“This is the only official footage of multiplayer Super Mario 64 from the Spaceworld 95 video kiosk, with the camera clearly focused on both characters,” Yakumono explains on X/Twitter .
“We finally got a glimpse of what Super Mario 64’s early multiplayer modes will look like!” adds YouTuber and modder Marionova. “This is also the first time we’ve seen Luigi’s SM64 model outside of Nintendo leaks! Please take a look!”
The video has gone viral online, and fans are divided as to whether it really shows the in-game Luigi or if it’s actually Mario, but older CRT systems can cause color smearing. I understand this because of look It’s like wearing green.
What do you think?
