Google released the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in October 2023 and is currently considering the Pixel 9 lineup.
Initial CAD-based renderings suggest that the Pixel 9 Pro should have a smaller screen, flat panel and sides, and a camera bump that doesn’t extend from edge to edge.
The leakster revealed that the screen will be a 6.5-inch panel compared to the previous model’s 6.7-inch OLED. However, the overall body size is basically the same, so the bezels are slightly thicker.
Google has relied on wide camera islands in the past three generations of Pixel flagships. The archers are again drawn horizontally, but within an oval island. The base of the device is 8.5 mm thin, but the bump adds almost 50%, making the camera setup 12 mm.
Google has been using aluminum frames, but we can expect it to follow the titanium alloy trend set by Apple with its iPhone 15 Pro series and Samsung with its Galaxy S24 Ultra.
